Path Financial LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates Path Financial at https://usepath.finance/. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights. By using the Service, you agree to this policy.
We will never sell your personal data to anyone. Ever.

- Financial planning data: income, assets, account balances, property values, debts, and other data you manually enter into the Service.
- Communications: messages you send us via email or feedback forms.

- Usage data: pages visited, features used, time spent, and navigation patterns.
- Device data: IP address, browser type, operating system, and device identifiers.
- Cookies and tracking technologies (see our Cookie Policy for full details).
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
- Process transactions and send related communications.
- Respond to your questions and support requests.
- Send important notices about the Service (e.g. security updates, Terms changes).
- Analyze usage patterns to improve performance and user experience.
- Comply with applicable laws and legal obligations.
We do not use your financial planning data for advertising, nor do we share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. We may share your data only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers: trusted third parties who help us operate the Service, each bound by confidentiality agreements. These include PostHog (product analytics) and Resend (transactional email delivery).
- Payment processing:Stripe, Inc. processes all purchases. We do not collect, store, or have access to your full payment card information. Stripe acts as a separate data controller for this information — see Stripe’s Privacy Policy. We retain only limited transaction metadata (customer ID, purchase date, payment status) to maintain your membership.
- Legal requirements: when required by law, court order, or government authority.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to you.
- With your consent: in any other circumstances with your explicit permission.
4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely using industry-standard measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Our database is hosted on Neon (PostgreSQL) and our application is hosted on Vercel. Both maintain robust security practices.
No online service is completely secure. While we take your data security seriously, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you become aware of a security issue, please contact us at legal@usepath.finance.
5. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
Payment records held by Stripe are retained per Stripe’s own retention policy and applicable tax and financial recordkeeping laws, independent of your Path account status.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data.
- Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format.
- Opt-out: Opt out of non-essential communications at any time.
California residents have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what data is collected and the right to opt out of data sales (which we do not engage in). EU/EEA residents have rights under GDPR including the right to object to processing and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

The Service is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

The Service may contain links to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their policies.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Significant changes will be communicated by email or via notice on the Service. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
